My Bio
Biology undergrad, photographer, mechanic, all-around-handyman.... I wear many hats. I took up photography years ago because I wanted my children to have plenty of photos to remember their childhood with. My first 'real' camera I bought was a Fuji Finepix S700, and by nature I quickly was poking around in its rather user-unfriendly full manual mode.

Despite what a pain it was to adjust everything as I pleased (manual focusing on the s700 was terribly implemented) I became enthralled by the amount of control I could have over my photos. A whole new world opened to me that became an obsession, and I soon purchased a DSLR so that I could have even greater control. It all went downhill after that and I ended up graduating to film a few years later.

I now have a fair collection of film cameras in medium format and 35mm, and I converted one of my rooms into a darkroom. Sadly, I rarely can justify buying chemicals, but I enjoy it just the same.

Tools of the Trade
Mamiya RB67, Mamiya NC1000, Bronica ETRS, Beseler Dichro 45, Epson V500, a bunch of other random film cameras.
Been too busy for photos!  I just posted some lazily done scans of my kids in their Halloween costumes so at least I'll have something up here.  I'll have some much more recent work up soon!

Dreams

0 min read
Some day, in the future I want to be making my living off of my photo work.  Not shooting events and pageant work like I did in the past, but maybe making use of all the ridiculous technical things I have learned over the years to do something big, to make real art.  I have all sorts of plans hatched from daydreams that I want to persue but... it all requires funding that I simply don't have.  It's like as Giorgio Moroder said of his desire to be a musician:  "It was almost impossible because it was, the dream was so big that I didn't see any chance ... "  Many times I feel that, that it's such a big thing that it is beyond my ability because
